IT Specialist

Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc. (CMT), a civil engineering and consulting firm, is looking to expand our internal Technology Support staff with an entry-level specialist hire. This role will support all levels of staff within the firm, provide the opportunity to experience new challenges in a dynamic environment, and receive periodic evaluations and performance feedback.  CMT is seeking an individual to engage in a variety of IT support areas, including the following:
  • Provide technical support across the firm
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
  • Troubleshoot domain logins and basic computer issues
  • Respond to service issues and requests in a timely manner
  • Establish accounts for new users
  • Repair or replace equipment as necessary
  • Test new technology
  • Create and maintain in-house technical documentation including SOPs, checklists, and equipment summaries

Position Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in CIS, MIS, IT, or related field is required
  • Past related internship experience or 1-3 years of experience in helpdesk/IT support is preferred
  • Working knowledge of relevant operating systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated, resourceful, with ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent customer support, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Efficient troubleshooting abilities
  • Willing to learn new technologies and engage in growing CMT’s capabilities
  • Programming/development experience is not required but is helpful
  • SQL Server/Database management experience is not required but is helpful
  • Ability to travel and/or work in other CMT offices
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to work weekend or non-traditional work hours as needed
